Head Of Security

Access: Armory, Head of Security, Bridge, Brig, Maintenance, Security
Difficulty: Makes you want to seek another profession
Duties: Herd your cats in red shirts. Arrest your fellow heads of staff. Be almost instantly distrusted by almost everyone despite (or perhaps because of) your position.

The big boss of the entire Security force on the station and the final say in security-related matters. You are the bastion of order among chaos and a very popular individual due to your level of access to the armory, which may or may not still contain guns. The role of the Head of Security is a thankless profession where good deeds frequently go unnoticed and mistakes by either you or anyone in your department are greatly magnified against you.

You are a force to be reckoned with on your own merely by your authority and equipment, however you are still only one person and are nowhere near your own army. You are a juicy target if caught unawares by all sorts of nefarious individuals, so a proper leader does well by commanding his subordinates and only stepping in where needed.

Equipment

  1. X-01 Multiphase - A multiple setting(Disabler, Ion, Lethal) self recharging laser pistol. Your best friend you swear "was off lethal" when you shot the clown.
  2. HoS' Rubber Stamp - Approve the Warden's insane ideas for off station prisoner colonies, or forget you have this all shift.
  3. HoS' Flask - Rules of conduct says you're not supposed to be drinking on the job, but the tiders yelling for your attention say otherwise.
  4. Security Remote - Toggles emergency access and bolts, as well as opens and closes any sec door on the station. Do not lose this.
  5. Disabler - Your go to only if you ran out of ammo on your self charging gun. Thankfully doesn't have a lethal mode for you to 'forget' about.
  6. Flash - Handheld tool to disorient and slow your foes. A killer headache and an opening for you to stun em and cuff em.


Responsibilities

  1. Command Cooperation - Your job is to protect the station. That means listening to other commands and understanding you don't have eyes everywhere.
  2. Prisoner Treatment/Sentencing - Ideally the Warden should be doing both of these, but you have the final say and it's important to consider all angles instead of just ignoring this duty and letting someone get Perma for no reason.
  3. Keep Order, Even in Security - Your Cadets, and more importantly Security Officers can sometimes get a bit too into the job. Remind them that beating random tiders or using lethal force for no good reason will have them removed from the force or sued by lawyers.
