Antagonists
If you are here, that means two things: Either you want to be evil and do bad things, or you want to learn what the evil people do and learn how to stop them, or how to survive.
Antagonists are the main source of conflict in Space Station 14. They are the ones who will cause chaos and rampant criminal activity within the station. They will have Objectives, which are set objectives that the antagonist can try to accomplish. You can view your Objectives in the Character screen (Default hotkey: C).
Antagonists are typically split into two categories: roundstart and midround.
Roundstart antagonists are the main force that creates interesting situations on the station. After all, your sole priority as an antagonist is to accomplish your objectives, and that is almost always against what Command and the crew want.
Midround antagonists are usually ghost roles, for the dead to take over. They usually spawn in after a decent amount of time has passed on the station, and are usually more dangerous and destructive than roundstart antagonists.
Admin-only antagonists do not naturally spawn but are spawned in via admin intervention.
Roundstart
Thief
Become the greatest thief of them all.
A kleptomaniac or Syndicate Agent in training, these individuals have innate pickpocketing powers and want only one thing: to pull off the greatest heist NanoTrasen has ever seen. Thieves have access to certain tools via their Thieving Satchel, and can use these to steal whatever they wish to steal. In exchange for this, they are Pacifist and cannot change that, so you cannot do any combat (except some creative workarounds). Stealth is your ally, and make sure your Thieves' Den is well-hidden!
Has a chance to roll as a sub-gamemode regardless of gamemode type.
Heretic
Cultist Simulator? Never heard of her.
An individual who delves into the occult arts and see inside the Mansus, learn the secrets well-hidden, sacrifice your fellow crewmembers and ascend. They are a magic-slinging terror that creates mass havoc with your spells, with ascension being the ultimate goal. They have access to certain Paths that shape the magic and abilities you have, and use runes drawn on the ground to gain knowledge and heretic-specific equipment.
Has a chance to roll as a sub-gamemode regardless of gamemode type.
Nuclear Operative
OPERATIVES STANDBY. YOUR OBJECTIVES ARE SIMPLE. DELIVER THE PAYLOAD AND GET OUT BEFORE THE PAYLOAD DETONATES. BEGIN MISSION.
A nuclear operative is a team antagonist employed by the Syndicate. Your objective is simple, break in and detonate a Nuclear Fission Device on the station. Escape is optional, just get the nuke detonated. You usually spawn as a group, depending on the station population at round start. You can buy equipment using TC, and can cause as much damage as you wish, kill as much as you want, there are few rules that stop you.
Changeling
Hey, our last 2 patients have been missing hearts. What's up with that?
An apex predator long forgotten in the annals of history, long thought extinct, only remembered as the boogeyman in children's bedtime stories. Except they are not extinct. They have shapeshifting powers, able to transform their bodies to mimic anyone on the station to the utmost accuracy. They can do things that regular crew cannot, and are a threat that can walk amongst us all.
Revolutionaries
Revolutionaries are antagonists that are sponsored by the Syndicate to take over the station by restraining, exiling or killing all of the Command staff.
Head Revolutionaries are chosen at the start of a round and can convert any crewmember without flash protection using a Flash. The converted must work to achieve the Revolutionaries' objectives. The Revolution will only end if the Head Revolutionaries are either dead or mindshielded.
Characters with Mindshields or wearing protective eyewear are immune to conversion. Command and security staff are Mindshielded by default.
Syndicate Agent
Your PDA beeps. Whiskey, Echo, Whiskey, Lima, Alpha, Delta.
A traitor is the classic antagonist alongside the Thief. They will have a set of Objectives ranging from stealing important equipment, to killing certain members of the station. They will have access to Syndicate equipment that will help them on their job via the Uplink, which is unlocked by inputting a certain sequenced ringtone in your PDA.
Blob
Hey what's that noise in maints?
The blob is one of the more unique antagonists in this game. They play more like an RTS, starting the round off as an infected individual, who must find a safe space to pop and begin the consumption of the station. You will have a view similar to the Station AI, and can construct blob tiles, nodes, and even creatures that will do your bidding. You can convert dead crew into blob zombies that will help you, and the main goal is to consume the station by covering tiles with your blobs.
Zombie
Braainnssss...
Zombies are a conversion antagonist whose sole purpose is to infect and convert as much of the crew as possible. They boast strong resistances to various damage types but extremely vulnerable to heat, and are able to slowly heal over time, even while critical. Zombies propagate through biting their victims, transmitting a deadly infection that will cause them to turn into a zombie when they succumb.
Zombies may also appear through Romerol, either from that funny-tasting floor pill or outside interference.
Wizard (currently disabled)
Magic missile! Magic missile! Magic missile!
A wizard from the Wizard's Federation. Their motives are inane esoteric and nobody really knows what they want, even themselves. One thing that remains constant is wherever a wizard is, destruction follows.
Midround
Lone Operative
A single Nuclear Operative with a single nuclear objective. Better hope you are robust. Same thing as the Nuclear Operatives, but you do not get teammates, and you get a smaller ship as well.
Rat King
He's da rat. He makes da roolz.
The Rat King is a random event neutral antagonist who is hungry and won't stop at anything to get food. They can summon Rat Servants using their hunger as a resource, rummage though disposal bins for more food, and command the rats to attack someone.
Revenant
A ghostly entity, given powers to haunt the crew and steal life essence from them while they are critical, dead, or sleeping.
A revenant is a ghost who can haunt the crew using various ghostly powers. Their main job is to steal life essence from the living, usually from those who are in a critical state, during which the Revenant is vulnerable. With the essence, they can do such hauntings like shocking crewmembers, causing mild damage to the station at will, and breaking nearby lights and electronics.
Space Ninja
I am an elite mercenary of the mighty Spider Clan! Surprise is my weapon. Shadows are my armor. Without them, I am nothing. Use your pinpointer to find the station. Good luck!
You are a ninja, but in space. The Spider Clan has sent you to the station to wreak havoc on the Station, from bombing Arrivals to setting everyone as wanted. You have access to a suit that makes you invisible, and a katana that let's you blink to anywhere you can see on a short cooldown. Your gloves can charge your suit from nearby APC, Substations, or SMES, and they can also stun a single individual for a long period of time, enough to kill them in cold blood.
Space Dragon
A dangerous alpha predator expending it's domain in your station with Space rifts that bring the dragon's subordinates, the space carps, stop it as fast as possible before the carps dominate you. It can shoot fireballs at a rapid pace, causing mini-explosions on its path. It can also eat any doors and walls in its way, so hiding is not an option. The portals need to be closed and destroyed quickly, or they will become permanent soon enough.
Closet Skeleton
A remain of the last crew working here, the skeleton is a neutral character. The skeleton can heal by splashing milk on itself. When it dies, it is reduced to a skull with the ability to speak and scream.
Blob (Midround)
Hey what's that noise in maints?
For the midround blob, an event will happen and spawn some blob-infected mice. They'll find a suitable spot and pop. An ever-expanding mass of tendrils and ooze, this hivemind-creature's objective is to grow, grow, grow.
Paradox Clone
No, I'm the right one!
A clone with one objective: Replace this timeline's version of them. They spawn in with all the equipment that the real individual has, including suits and backpacks, with all the contents being duplicated. You are nigh indistinguishable from the real one, and your main goal is to get to Central Command as the replacement, making sure the original is marooned or worse.
