Supervisors: Station AI and your laws
Subordinates: None
Guides: Whatever guide helps with your current task.

Ah, the cyborg. A robotic role that players can choose to become either at roundstart, or if something unfortunate happens to them during a round. As a cyborg, you play similar to crewmembers in that you have a role and you should do it to the best of your abilities. Unlike crew, you don't have much free will per say. You are beholden to your Silicon Lawset, a set of Laws hardcoded into your Chassis that you CANNOT break. While you as a player are not limited to breaking your laws, it is heavily frowned upon and can result in admins intervening if your actions do not follow your lawset at all.

Cyborgs start out as the Basic Chassis, an all-rounder that can do most basic jobs, but if you so wish to specialize in a department, you can select the chassis of choice at any time, but it is a one-time irreversible action, so decide carefully!

Cyborgs have a distinct advantage and disadvantage compared to crew in regards to situations that can occur on the station. They are:

Advantages:

  • Cyborgs do not need to eat or drink.
  • Cyborgs can survive in space, as they do not take spacing damage.
  • Cyborgs are resilient to most forms of damage.
  • Cyborgs do not need to follow Space Law (unless your Lawset states otherwise)
  • Cyborgs have All Access inherently, so they can enter and exit any room on the station, including Command and Externals.

Disadvantages:

  • Cyborgs need to be regularly recharged since they run on power. Cyborg Recharging Stations can charge you at a decent rate.
  • Cyborgs do not have any storage other than what the modules provide.
  • Cyborg hands cannot hold certain objects, making their flexibility limited.
  • Cyborgs do not have access to traditional weapons or firearm, unless you are a Syndicate Cyborg.
  • Cyborgs MUST follow their Laws, regardless of the situation. They cannot break their laws under ANY circumstance.
  • Cyborg Lawsets can be changed by antagonists or random events, turning you from a helpful member of the station to a rampaging malfunctioning death machine.

As a cyborg, you have access to 3 channels at the start: Common, Binary, and Science. Binary is a special channel restricted to the cyborgs, Station AI, Roboticist and Research Director. No one else should have this channel, so you can use it to talk to other cyborgs, the AI, or even the RD or Roboticist about upgrades or repairs you might want. Personal AIs also have access to this channel at some point, and Syndicate Agents can buy Binary encryption keys to listen in if needed. When you select a certain Chassis, you get comms access to that department's channel. You cannot add or remove comms access on a Cyborg other than via the Chassis forms.

Cyborgs also can view the Job Icons similar to SecHUD, and you must use this as the method to identify crew and non-crew.

All Cyborgs start with the default Lawset which is called Crewsimov. It has 3 laws which can be read at the Lawsets wikipage but for a brief overview, you cannot cause or allow crew harm, you must follow all orders given by crew, and you must protect yourself unless that causes crew harm. Crew are defined as those with valid station job icons, and those without are considered non-crew.

Chassis Types

Cyborgs start out with the Basic Chassis, an all-rounder chassis that can do most basic tasks, but once per Chassis, the cyborg can change their Chassis to one of 5 types, each specialized in a particular Department. They have access to specific Chassis-limited modules, and Department-specific comms channels.
