Alert levels

Alert levels are referring to the station-wide emergency system alerting the crew to major situations that can affect most (if not all) of the crew. They are announced with a Station Wide Announcement heard by all individuals on and off station, with a corresponding color and brief description of the alert level. These are be set by all Command staff and the Station AI, using the Communication Console available in the corresponding Head's office or in the Bridge.

The corresponding alert levels have associated Standard Operating Procedures that all crew must follow. To read the SOP for a particular role, please refer to SOP or the in-game Guidebook.

Green

Green Alert Level Announcement

Attention! Station alert level is now green! It is now safe to return to your workplaces.

The default alert level at shift start and during most of the shift if nothing goes wrong. On this alert level, all crew operate under the normal SOP.

Briefly, this means that you can enter maintenance tunnels if non-Security, you cannot be searched without a Warrant by Security Officers, and you cannot open carry firearms or other restricted equipment.

Blue

Blue Alert Level Announcement

Usually elevated from Green or reduced from Red, it is announced when a suspected but not confirmed threat is on the station. Usually some sort of crime has occurred, such as theft or even murder. In such a case, Security Officers are allowed to conduct random searches of the crew for any weapons, stolen items, or restricted/contraband items that shouldn't be on their person. If the suspect refuses the search, Security is allowed to arrest under Refusal to Comply. Security can use lethal force if necessary, but they will try to go for the non-lethal approach first.

Yellow

Yellow Alert Level Announcement

Attention! Station alert level is now Yellow! There is a structural or atmospheric threat within the station. Engineering staff are advised to immediately respond and perform safety measures. Crewmembers are advised to stay away from the threat, and stay in their workplaces if necessary.

An alert announced when the station has some massive structural or atmospheric problem. Usually it's either spacing, unhospitable atmosphere, overheating, freezing temperatures, or a massive hole in the station due to a special someone. When this is announced, best method of survival is to grab some sort of EVA suit, a tank of oxygen or nitrogen, and turn your internals on if you are planning to leave the safe place. If it is cold, best to wear insulating clothes like winter jackets, scarves, and winter boots.

Engineering will be the main heroes of the situation, fixing the air and station to acceptable levels, or cordoning off the damaged part of the station if it's too severe to repair.

Red

Red Alert Level Announcement

Attention! Station alert level is now Red! There is a confirmed immediate threat to the station. Security should prepare to use lethal force if necessary. Crewmembers should find a safe place to shelter in, and are advised to follow any present authorities.

At this alert level, Security are allowed to use lethals with no prior warning, they can open carry firearms, use Armory weapons.

In cases of Station-Wide threats like Nuclear Operatives, the whole crew is usually armed along with Security, usually getting a weapon and some armor. Your respective Heads will instruct you on what to do, and how to deal with the threat.

Special Alert Levels

These are alert levels that only admemes or the game itself can set them to.

Delta

Attention! Station alert level is now Delta! The station is currently under threat of imminent destruction. Crewmembers are advised to listen to heads of staff for more information.

This alert level can be set by either the nuke being armed, a blob reaching critical levels, a heretic ascending, or the cosmic cult summoning the unknown. It is recommended that the crew either takes shelter away from the station, or helps stop whatever caused the delta alert.

Gamma

Attention! Station alert level is now Gamma! Central Command has ordered the Gamma security level on the station. Security is to have weapons equipped at all times, and all civilians are to immediately seek their nearest head for transportation to a secure location.

An admeme alert level. This is usually the Red alert level, but for events.

Epsilon

Attention! Station alert level is now Epsilon! Central Command has ordered the Epsilon security level on the station. Consider all contracts terminated.

An admeme alert level. Epsilon essentially means the station is not worth saving, and decides to burn it all down. Usually after reading this announcement, a Nanotrasen Deathsquad will arrive at the station's doorstep.
