Alert levels are a way to quickly alert the crew of any possible threats that may be present on the station. Alert levels also determine which procedures to follow, including security. On certain alert levels, security may be granted more leniency to deal with threats and unruly crew. All alerts can be called by members of crew with Command-level access at a working Communications Console, except for Gamma and Delta.

Failure to abide by the regulations put on by these alert levels may result in contract termination.

Code Green

Attention! Station alert level is now green! It is now safe to return to your workplaces.

This is the default alert code at the beginning of the shift. This is not expected to be changed unless a threat is suspected or confirmed. If the station is in Code Blue, and about 15 minutes pass without any hostile activity, it is recommended to deescalate the alert level down to Green.

Protocol

  • Security
    • All weapons must be holstered or kept in pockets/personal storage unless absolutely required.
    • Random searches are not permitted without express permission (including a signed and stamped warrant) by either the Head of Security or Captain. However, searches are still permitted if there is reasonable suspicion of a crime.
  • Secure Areas
    • EVA Storage, Tech Storage, Gravity Generator, Engineering Secure Storage, AI Upload, Vault, Gateway, and anywhere requiring Command-level access permissions that does not get regularly used.
      • Secure areas such as EVA are to be left unbolted and ready to be used for their intended purposes.
      • There are situations where exceptions apply; The Vault can still be entered in the event that the contents within are required by the R&D department, or when a critical item needs to be hidden away.
  • General Crew
    • While not expressly required, it is recommended that the crew activate and maximize their Suit Sensors (by turning on "Coordinates" in the context menu), due to the potential for workplace accidents and other incidents.
    • Free transit through the station is permitted for crew, excluding the Secure Areas listed above.

Code Yellow

Attention! Station alert level is now Yellow! There is a structural or atmospheric threat within the station. Engineering staff are advised to immediately respond and perform safety measures. Crewmembers are advised to stay away from the threat, and stay in their workplaces if necessary.

If the station is put into alert Code Yellow, that means there is an atmospheric threat aboard the station. An atmospheric threat is described as anything that can possibly make the station uninhabitable without an EVA suit or breath mask, and includes the following: mass hull breaches, spacing, air distribution failures, extreme temperature changes, or dangerous gas leaks.

Protocol

  • Command & Security
    • Command and security personnel should ensure that EVA suits are properly distributed among the crew while maintaining vigilance.
  • Secure Areas
    • EVA Storage, Tech Storage, Gravity Generator, Engineering Secure Storage, AI Upload, Vault, Gateway, and anywhere requiring Command-level access permissions that does not get regularly used.
      • It is recommended that all Secure Areas are bolted shut unless their use is necessary.
  • General Crew
    • All personnel are highly recommended to maximize their Suit Sensors with coordinates set.
    • Personnel are expected to report any suspicious activity to the nearest member of security, or to use communications equipment such as NanoChat or their headset to contact security.
    • Personnel are highly encouraged to either get into a safe area, or find emergency EVA suits paired with oxygen/nitrogen if they are needed.
